  • Following more than two years of engagement and consultation with Community, the Aboriginal Treaty Working Group presented it’s final report on the design of the Aboriginal Representative Body. (March)
  • Regional Treaty Roadshows commenced. The Commissioner and Commission staff visited over 30 locations across Victoria. (April until September)
  • The Advancing the Treaty Process with Aboriginal Victorians Bill 2018 was debated in Parliament and passed by both Chambers. This historic legislation outlines the guiding principles for the Treaty process and maintains momentum. (August)
  • Elders across Victoria came together to discuss their voice, knowledge and skills in the Treaty process by attending an Elders forum. The first gathering of its kind. (September)
  • More than 400 Aboriginal Victorians attended a Treaty State-wide Gathering, and many more watched online to discuss the proposed Aboriginal Representative Body model. (September)
