My name is Jacinta Chaplin, I was born and raised in the Swan Hill, Nyah West area.
I am here to make real change on the ground for our country, for our communities and our families, and to ensure the documents and processes we create are binding and can not sit on a shelf to be ignored.
Treaty and truth telling is the next step to be taken. It gives us the opportunity to demanded the respect for our ancestors, the respect of our culture and our right to protect and care for our country.
Our ancestors have guided us to where we are today. We walk in the footsteps they left for us.
The tracks we are creating now are the pathways for the next generations.
I am here to leave my footprints.

March 2025 — Meeting of Assembly at Traralgon
Since last Chamber I have been unable to physically meet with community due to an injury. Community have shared concerns that our priority should be around Aboriginality, sports and who has cultural right. Any update for community and allies is giving update on the progress of where we are at with negations and the Self-Determination Fund.
Most people understand that there is a lot going on in the background, but would like to see community workshop around different topics.
I believe that we need to have a space that community and allies need a space to submit question and suggestion that could be a vision of the region.
When the office is open for use I will be based there on a weekly base, attending community events in Kerang, Swan Hill and Robinvale.
I look forward to attending the next round of community meetings.
