Wurundjeri, Boon Wurrung, Yorta Yorta man, Uncle Shane Charles, has resigned from his position as an elected Member of the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.
Uncle Shane was one of the general Members of the metro region.
The Assembly’s independent election provider will conduct a count-back of the historic vote to fill the vacancy.
The Assembly Co-chairs have thanked Uncle Shane for his contribution to the Assembly and acknowledged the collective advancement to Treaty for Victoria.
More details about the count-back process will be shared in coming days.
