Treaty Authority and Interim Dispute Resolution Process

Ensuring timely progress towards fair and just Treaties.

The Assembly is establishing a Treaty Authority that is Aboriginal-led, culturally strong and underpinned by the principles of Aboriginal self-determination, and ensures timely progress towards fair and just Treaties by providing effective and independent oversight of the Treaty process and negotiating parties.

This work includes establishing an interim dispute resolution process that embeds Aboriginal lore and ways of doing business and provides a timely, independent, fair, and transparent process to resolve disputes between the Assembly and the State of Victoria in progressing towards Treaties.
