The Assembly’s objective is to promote the self-determination and empowerment of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians in the Treaty process, including by:
- Acting as the First Peoples’ Representative Body to negotiate and agree Statewide Treaty and Interim Agreements,
- Acting as the Aboriginal Representative Body to support Treaty negotiations (including administering the Self-Determination Fund),
- Enabling Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians to exercise sovereignty, the right to self-determination and other rights; including those contained in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the team to ensure efficient election processes and logistical coordination, overseeing electoral roll management with a focus on accuracy, high-quality administrative support, and continuous process improvement.
- Develop strategies for voter enrolment and implement robust record management systems aligned with governance and legal standards.
- Assist leading the regular audit and review of electoral roll processes to ensure compliance and support continuous improvement and best practice.
- Lead audits and data review initiatives to ensure data accuracy, compliance and support continuous process enhancement.
- Monitor and support the continuous improvement of administrative systems and processes to support the efficient and effective operation of the Assembly. Drive continuous improvements in administrative systems to support efficiency and achieve Assembly’s operational goals.
- Regularly review and improve reporting for the electoral roll and provide strategic thinking on ways to increase enrolments in different regions including a review of the current electoral rules
Skills, Competencies & Knowledge
- Demonstrated skill and capacity to work effectively and with integrity in the context of a Victorian First Peoples’ Representative Body.
- Strategic thinking
- Ability to administer operational processes and procedures to support the operation of the electoral roll functions.
- Ability to adapt to information system and electoral roll system.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and project management skills with an ability to work to timelines and be outcome focused whilst managing multiple tasks.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as a productive team member.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
Experience & Qualifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal Communities and organisations within Victoria.
- Experience providing administration assistance within a corporate governance team, community or public sector environment.
- Understanding of document management systems.
Salary range: $109,730 – $ 132,746.00 (FTE) plus salary packaging, and superannuation, based on experience and expertise.
This role is based in Collingwood, Victoria.
