If so, we invite you to join our team as Senior People and Culture Advisor at the First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria.

Overview:

The Assembly’s objective is to promote the self-determination and empowerment of Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians by advancing the Treaty process by:

  • Acting as the Aboriginal Representative Body to support Treaty negotiations.
  • Enabling Traditional Owners and Aboriginal Victorians to exercise sovereignty, the right to self-determination and other rights; including those contained in the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP); and
  • Working with governments to establish or be a First Nations’ Voice to government or Parliament.

This role is responsible for providing high level HR support for the First People’s Assembly, its Council and Committees.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with HR managers and other stakeholders to strategically determine HRIS needs.
  • Analysing HRIS performance metrics and resolving application issues.
  • Strategically identifying training need and providing solutions.
  • Creating user accounts, managing access, and updating employee information.
  • Auditing HR processes and documents, including payroll administration, staff turnover, hiring, and termination of service, when required.
  • Provide administrative support for recruitment of staff including organising interviews.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to gather requirements and align event objectives with Assembly goals.
  • Maintain a consistently high level of confidentiality across all aspects of responsibilities, safeguarding sensitive information, data, and stakeholder interactions in accordance with established protocols and legal requirements.
  • Undertake other duties as directed.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Aboriginal Communities in Victoria.
  • 2 years’ experience in either recruitment or HR preferred.
  • Able to navigate complex relationships and act in accordance with the Assembly’s values.
  • High-level attention to detail with a focus on maintaining accuracy and integrity of administration processes and data input.
  • Able to work within strict deadlines, timelines and reporting timetables.
  • Skilled at multitasking across a variety of administration functions, projects & tasks.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Able to review, recommend and implement administrative initiatives that seek efficiencies either from a process or systems perspective.

Salary of $105,479 – $ 116,550 per annum (full-time equivalent) plus salary packaging, and superannuation, based on experience and expertise.
