Join us for our 2025 Statewide Treaty Gathering! 

Hear directly from the elected Assembly Members on where we are at with the Statewide Treaty. There will be space for all family groups, nations, Traditional Owners, young mob and non-Traditional Owners community to build what it means to be living in relation together through the Statewide Treaty process and beyond.

28 February and 1 March at the MCG.

Over two days of updates and workshops, Statewide Gathering provides all First Peoples living in Victoria with the opportunity to learn more about the journey so far and to help shape the path ahead.


We’ll share more details in the coming weeks, but here’s a preview the key themes we will cover.

Day 1 – Continuing the journey

  • Update on the Statewide Treaty negotiations
  • The Aboriginal Community Controlled Sector
  • Treaty proposals: What immediate impact can we expect?

Day 2 – Building our Treaty Agenda

  • Living in relation: Peoples, land, waters, skies, treaty partners, nations
  • Decolonisation and beyond: Building a shared vision for Treaty
  • Mobilising Community for Treaty: How can we work together to get the message of Treaty out?
  • Ceremonial Closing

Helping with travel costs

For enrolled mob who are travelling to MCG for the Statewide Treaty Gathering, we will contribute towards your travel expenses.

  • For enrolled mob living 50km or more from MCG, we’ll provide a $50 gift voucher
  • For enrolled mob living 150km or more for MCG, we’ll provide a $100 voucher
  • For enrolled mob living 300km or more from MCG, we’ll provide a $150 voucher

Photography

We often take photos at our events to be used in our reports and various public materials. If you don’t want to be photographed, please inform one of our staff members at the event and they will let the photographer know not to include you in photos. For more information, read our privacy policy.

This event will take place at the MCG, in the Olympic Room, via Gate 3.

Parking

Parking is not available on site. We recommend catching public transport with Richmond or Jolimont station nearest, and Flinders St only a short walk away.

General public car parking is available surrounding the stadium precinct, please see here for options. Please note, YARRA PARK WILL NOT BE OPEN FOR THIS EVENT. Please scroll down to ‘Alternative Options’ for other parking information.

We will have Assembly staff onsite around Gate 3 to help direct you and, if you require assistance, well have a golf buggy to transport attendees to the venue entrance.

For Accessible Parking Permit holders, there will be some designated parking available within the MCG – if you have noted accessibility requirements as part of your registration, one of the Assembly team will reach out to further discuss this directly with you.


Drop-off

If you are being driven to the Gathering, you may be dropped off at the end of Jolimont Terrace and Jolimont Street. If you have noted a requirement for accessibility needs support at this drop off point, an Assembly staff member will be there to assist you via golf buggy transport to the MCG doors. Assembly staff contact details will be sent to you closer to the date.


Event times

Doors open each day at 9.00am, with programming beginning at 9.30am. Both days are planned to finish at 5.30pm.

*Please note: the Welcome to Country and cultural activities on Friday morning will be held outside. Please bring a jumper or coat. For the rest of the event, we’ll be indoors.
