The Self-Determination Fund will be a financial resource to support and build economic self-determination, both through the Treaty process and into the future. It is administered by the Assembly as the Aboriginal Representative Body.
This is a new financial resource designed by and for First Peoples and controlled by First Peoples. The establishment of the Self-Determination Fund does not affect the State’s continuing obligation to fund and deliver services (whether directly or indirectly) to the Victorian public, including to First Peoples through universal services and government-funded services delivered by Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations.
